"No. He will not answer questions. We need some questions answered."

The agent said, "Fine. Please ask."

"What is your name?"

"My name is William Smith, sir. And on the phone here is ..." he was cut off as Ferguson interjected.

"John Smith." Ferguson sort of regretted his lack of creativity on this one, but it would have to do. He would now have to make sure the FBI employed an agent named John Smith.

The attorney had taken out a notepad and was now writing as he talked. "Is Dr. O'Leary under arrest?"

"No."

"Is he being detained for suspicion of criminal action?"

"No, not to my knowledge."

"Why do you have him here?"

The agent responded, "We have a court order to search his company's computer records. Basically the order allows us to make a copy for an investigation. John Smith, here, also had asked to talk to Dr. O'Leary, to ask him some questions."
