This office was about half the size of Dr. O'Leary's. Dr. O'Leary was led into a small conference room that could seat about ten people. The agent then picked up the telephone and dialed Ferguson, not six blocks away.

"Dr. O'Leary?" Ferguson spoke. Both Jill and Jack were in the room with him, but he had instructed them not to say anything during the interview. It was bad enough that Dr. O'Leary would be able to hear his voice. Dr. O'Leary had already been asked to empty his pockets and had been cursorily searched for devices of any sort. There had been none.

"Yes?"

"Dr. O'Leary, my name is John. I am with the FBI central office. Will you answer some questions?"

"May I wait for my attorney to arrive? I called him a few minutes ago." He noticed another person over John's shoulder," No, here he is."

Dr. O'Leary's attorney was sharply dressed, like Dr. O'Leary, and immediately started to seize control of the situation. "Dr. O'Leary, say nothing more. Who is in charge here?"

Ferguson was quiet. The agent that had brought in O'Leary realized that he had to volunteer. "I am, sir. We also have another agent on the phone here. He was just asking whether Dr. O'Leary would answer some questions."
