"Yep."

Then Jack and Jill came walking into the office. "We've got some news." Jill was first to speak.

"What news?"

"Metafire is advertising for other groups to link up with its space station, USSS 26. Jack and I were thinking we could get somebody up there. A spy." Jill was serious. "And I volunteer. After I go, this whole FBI office should relocate to another city and disappear."

Ferguson and the Major looked at each other. These guys were right. At least, in part.

Then Jack said, "I'm going with Jill."

"No Jack." Ferguson looked directly at him. "Neither of you are going. We'll send somebody else. But the idea of this office disappearing is a good one. Major, we want to publicly announce our closure and then go under cover in another city."

"What about Erisa?"

The Major interrupted, "Jack, we have to face the fact that we don't know where she is. We've also lost the policeman." Jack was now convinced the Major didn't give a damn about either of them. But he had his friend Ferguson, so it didn't matter much.
