Ferguson looked to the side in order to think about it. "It's possible that somebody else could be Jack for awhile. But, Major, we are assuming that these people know where Erisa lives."

"Of course they know where she lives. If they found her through the Aol account, they know exactly where she lives. Chances are, by now, if she is still alive, they also know about Jack. Or, at least, they suspect there is a man. Chances are, they asked her about metafire dot com, and she did not know that Internet location. That would be sufficient, if we are right in our suspicion that the Metafire people kidnapped her."

"OK, Major. Let's assume you are right. Would they also know Jack's name and what he looks like? Would she have told them?"

"It would all just be a guess. The most she could have told them was that Jack had just started work for us." Then the Major stood up. "John, that would put us, the entire operation, in danger."

The Major stiffened, and continued, "More. We would be in even more danger if we sent in somebody, and he got caught. Remember when these guys get mad, if they are the guys we think they are, they could take out a whole city. Maybe Houston."
