George half smiled. His brown hair was neat, and his blue eyes scanned across the eyes looking at him. He was not nervous or visibly upset.

Angela continued, "This says that George tricked Stan into setting off the bombs. Stan, in fact, had resolved not to set them off! George felt that without the explosions, the effect would not be viable. Is this true, George?"

"Yes."

"Then why did you accuse Stan?"

"For the same reason that you are accusing me, I suppose. You are the culprit, I think. Stan used his codes, and I used my codes. Stan thought his codes would keep the bombs from exploding. I thought my codes would keep the bombs from exploding. I might have believed that we should set off the bombs, but I didn't set them off. I sent my codes to the bombs, but the bombs exploded anyway. For some reason, none of us had the codes that stopped the bombs from exploding. I thought it was Stan. Now, I think it might be you."

Michael spoke up, "I suggest that we have a major problem here. As Ukrainians, we were too far from the bombs to have an effect. Therefore, I suggest that all of you Americans consider helping us to understand what has happened. George, first, why do you think Angela is the culprit. It can't simply be because she is accusing you."
