Ferguson was quick, as usual. "We can't know this. We would have to bring the others in Metafire to our side. They might be able to track down the Metafire software that is on the net. We might find out that way. I suspect that if they knew that George was the real murderer, the other Metafire people might join us."

"Well, at least with the killer satellite attached to Metafire, we probably have bargaining power." the Major said.

Jill looked up at him and said, "They also want to be back on the Internet." She looked back at her screen thinking that this was probably a more powerful inducement than the killer satellite could provide.

Then it dawned on Ferguson, "We could probably test our approach by putting Dr. O'Leary and the others under arrest, and trying to get them over to our side. They are under Federal custody. I could have them flown here. Individually, of course."

"Good idea," said the Major. "For now we should go over all the other details on Dr. Miller's disk. Also, Lieutenant!" An aide walked over. "Have the attorney general's office send over somebody. We want to have the disk analysed for evidenciary content on every member of Metafire."
