Metafire

Randy didn't especially want to die either. His responsibility as a policeman didn't clearly specify a suicidal sense of bravery. "I'll tell you what. The FBI guys must realize that Metafire could have more bombs than simply the ones that exploded. That has to explain a lot that has happened. Maybe it's not important to tell them right now. If it looks like these guys are going crazy with the bombs, we can put our own stop to it. You would be ready then, right?"

"Sure. I guess." Then she recovered her resolve and said firmly, "sure!"

On their way out they pushed past Beth. She told Isolova, "The prisoners are fraternizing. Tisk, tisk."

Isolova looked over and said, "We should all talk. I want to propose we rearrange the virtual reality system and move it into the cavern here. We could have real contests out here with all this room. I could move these sheets around and give us an arena."

Randy looked over. He had grown fond of the virtual reality system. "Yeh, and we could build some Internet space games. Ya'll program computers here, right? I've got some ideas about games that colonists would like. We could have virtual gardens and virtual buildings. We could build huge palaces in cyberspace and tour them. We could have death traps and 007 intrigue, all from our imaginations. With no gravity, we can tour by practically swimming through them."
