Jim then said, "Steven? Are you there?" No answer.

Then came an answer. "Steven's asleep now. I don't know what kind of gas that was, but it looks like a whole bunch of us are asleep, doesn't it. You FBI should just try to stop charging in on people. Thanks for the helmet, though. Do you have any suggestions on how we might clear the gas out'a the air? If you don't, I'll kill us all." It was George Davis. His usual threat.

They couldn't take off their helmets. They would go to sleep too. But the only way they could talk was over the helmet radios, and this Metafire guy was now wearing one. Scooter spoke first, "Friends, we are all stuck up here. I suggest we just quit this one and fix up the air. Whoever you are, are you there?"

"Of course."

"You have to close your hatch, and we have to detach. I have to replace our re-breathing modules. Otherwise the gas keeps recirculating."

Then Jack spoke, "Scooter, how are we going to replace ours?"

"Don't worry, Jack, I'll detach the tug from your capsule and put a new re-breather on your capsule."
