Andrei's fellows were here. They were Whitefire. They too had been duped by Stan. They, too, thought the devices were to be used without detonation. The detonation in Moscow killed Andrei's father, and Andrei halted all Whitefire activity. He said, "if they use our devices to kill, we will stop them. The next device will explode on them."

Isolova had agreed, "They lied. We must kill them before they kill another person. If they kill one person, they will kill a million. What makes them this way? How can they? How dare they?"

But, upon the death of Stan, their killing of Stan in retribution for the murder of cities, Dr. O'Leary convinced the Ukranians that it had been a tragic disaster. Furthermore, he convinced them that they, neither the Ukrainians and Americans, had not been at fault. He convinced them that the explosive death of families had been halted for good with the destruction of Stan, they jointly agreed not to employ the threat of the bomb any more.

They had now agreed to join, as one battalion, to the colonization movement into space. After all, the explosions had convinced mankind to escape the death on Earth. Their one role, now, was to contribute to the newly forming culture that, space borne, could survive.
