"Like what, Jack?" Ferguson turned to Jill, "Do you have any ideas? We can't afford to give anything away to this guy. We don't know what he is capable of doing. If we give any indications at all of our suspicions, he would still be free, and we might lose millions more people, not to even mention Erisa!"

"But," said Jill, "I take it Jack and I can go and start searching the Metafire files? I would be really interested in looking at what is behind the firewall."

"Go to it. I suspect the net copy operations are completed now. Contact FBI data control for the password." Ferguson was at least satisfied that he had some top notch people digging for clues.

But an hour later, Jack and Jill came back into Ferguson's office.

"Yes," he said.

Jill said, "Not only are their software sources encrypted, most all of their stuff is encrypted. We couldn't find a key. Looks like this is another one for the National Security Agency."

"No," said Ferguson, "I think I can have the court order the Metafire people to turn over their encryption keys." He then picked up the telephone. By the next day they had a folder from Metafire describing all the keys and entrances.
