Michael Yatchiv was the first to seize on the opportunity. Steven was slumping. He looked like he was relaxing. He looked like he was going to sleep. But, in fact, he was dead. A meteorite had struck through his heart.

Marie screamed. Another projectile passed through her arm, just below the elbow. George had not noticed that the meteor that killed Steven had lodged in his side. He moved slightly, while he watched Michael pulling toward him at high speed. Then George passed out.

Erisa had been held by Randy. She looked at him and realized what was going on. Once she saw that Steven and George were completely limp, she said to Randy in a quiet voice, "What's going on?"

Randy couldn't hear well over the alarms. But he was calm too, and said, "We're taking over Erisa. Help me."

He released her, and shoved toward George. He didn't know that Steven was already dead. He wanted to get the badge from Steven. He wanted to re-establish himself. But he was confused. He didn't really know what was going on. Then, he felt a scratch on his leg. He looked around and saw Platon, looking concerned, but with his arm outstretched. Something was in Platon's right hand. Randy passed out.
