"What?"

"Well, they called it a house arrest. No charges yet."

"They put everybody in a company under house arrest!"

"That's what they said. The person I talked to said, to be precise, 'We can confirm that the people at Metafire are under a house arrest, but we don't discuss matters under current investigation.' Isn't that cool?"

Wendy realized immediately that this meant that the FBI regarded this group as possibly dangerous. Why wouldn't they just arrest them? Why wouldn't they just investigate them? It didn't add up. She was pretty sure that it wasn't even legal doing what the FBI was doing. She was onto something important. "Randall?"

"Yes?"

"Do you have anything else?"

Randall then volunteered more, "I've collected some local background on Metafire. It's been in business since 1991. In the last decade both it's previous Presidents have been found dead under mysterious circumstances. The current president's name is Richard O'Leary. He lives in Sante Fe. I tried calling his home, but I got an answering machine."
