Erisa said, "So why are you taking to space?"

Then Dave spoke up, "We will live out our lives and soon may die in space. If you can keep our secret, at least you get to choose to die with us or to live. After we have escaped any possibility of capture, you will be free. We will not give you any physical evidence. Ultimately, it will be your words alone that will have to convince the world of what we have done. We don't think you can accomplish that. As you said, it's too unbelievable."

"But you hope?" Erisa was very perceptive.

Dave continued, "I think we would like to know that many years from now, some smart people will review the records and come to the conclusion that our group existed. We would like to know that our efforts ultimately made a positive difference."

"I think you should all be put to death." Then Randy halted and said, "But maybe I'll just hope you die sooner than later."

Dave shot back, "Jack, you have no idea how many people this little group saved. Stan would have killed many more. He was convinced the bombs had to go off, and he was convinced they had to continue going off in order for the treatment to be effective."
