Now she was worried.

Greater Boston was gone. The bomb was somewhere in the city. It was up high enough that the city was basically flattened. The buildings took most of the beating, and even nearby surroundings remained largely intact. The President had been on TV several times during the evening. There was no country claiming responsibility. It was an act of terrorism.

The next day Denver blew up.

In the dim light of a computer screen, a hand typed an entry code and an execute code.

Miami was vaporized.

The next day there were general panics. People in America were leaving cities in droves. The National Guard was mobilized to control traffic on the roads.

Now, startlingly, Moscow.

Then Rome on the same day.

Five bombs. The surviving world was mesmerized.
